ART INSTALLATION | Visual Poetry

Poetic interfering that explore the common space, what the best in it, the multiplicity of sensations and feelings, making each Installation unique by the space that surrounds it. Artistic interventions in public and non-conventional spaces, that bring them from the forgetfulness and routine, revealing ephemeral spaces of contemplation.

Capturing the essence of each space, embracing the forms, worlds and atmospheres, volatile and transitional Installations are  created, that involving the surrounding space, and at the same time, that deconstructing it. The mirror of our time, that interferes with the public senses, almost obligating them to experiment feelings...

From the images bellow, the first four correspond to the first approach of Passage Installation at Macao (see Street Arts Category), meanwhile the others are related with the Weft project, which it's follow describe.

WEFT | ART INSTALLATION
A look over the work of Manuel Jacinto Craftsman

A contemporary approach, in the form of installation, of the traditional, and almost forgotten, "Covos de Chaiço" an empty and ovoid object, built in willow sticks of varying diameters, which intertwined, creates a rigid and resistant frame, used as trap fish, a practice once widely used in extensive beds of the river Mira.
The PIA, under the direction of Pedro Domingues, and together with the local community, occupied in Artistic Residency at Santa Clara-a-Velha, the space that welcomed the Solstice Festival, organized by PédeXumbo - Association for Music and Dance Promotion.
A piece inspired by the work of local craftsman Manuel Jacinto, one of the few ancients that still keeps alive the knowledge and practice of this basketry technique.
Also intervened in this weft João Tristão, Patrícia Gonçalves, Paulo Claudino, not forgetting the wisdom of this technique from Sr. Chico Cesteiro and memories in the form of illustrated tales of Sr. Leonel, and for which PIA leaves it's special thanks.

FRAME Fragmented Space | ART INSTALLATION

It's an Installation linked to the concept of fragmentation spaces and RECYCLED ART, through the use and transformation of frames, an integral part of the creation of a three-dimensional Portico, by its symbolism and importance as architectural structure, and of an entire surrounding structure, with layers of transparency, favoring the idea of visual frames and broad perspective of space and inner contents of the event.
It was for the first time implemented along the banks of the Mira River in Odemira to receive also the first local YOUTH FORUM which involved several Seminars, Workshops and Music Concerts.
In addition to the images in the photo gallery below is also an interesting video done by Fábio Mestrinho (Motion Edition) where we can see the implementation process up to the event.
